Jesus had a powerful and busy ministry. That’s why it is so notable that the Gospel authors remind us He spent daily time with the Father. If the Savior, who had the world clamoring for His attention, can consistently get away with the Father, so can we.

Mark 15:33-47

As Mark’s Gospel nears its close, we see the death of Jesus. Mark timestamps the crucifixion so that we know Jesus hung on the cross for about six hours—six hours of grueling pain. When you find yourself waiting, you can remember that Jesus waited in suffering to pay the price for your sins. You may be waiting on something, but you don’t have to wait on a Savior to show up. He already did, and He waited for you.

Mark 15:16-32

As Jesus goes to the cross, He goes for all of us. The variety of characters who appear at Jesus’ crucifixion offer us opportunity to place ourselves in the story.  We are prone to pick just one of them. In reality, we’re all of them. We crucified Him, and He died in our place.

Mark 15:1-15

Crowds impact the way we act. As the crucifixion draws closer, the crowd in opposition to Jesus grows louder. Mark 15 gives us opportunity to look at those dynamics and see how Jesus responds.

As Jesus nears his dad of crucifixion, an anxious atmosphere grows. Peter has already failed to stay awake in the garden, and in this text we see his anxiety come to full bloom. What makes you anxious and what can you do about it?
