What does it really mean to be a Christian?

In this opening message of our 5:21 series, we explore the three places where the word “Christian” appears in Scripture and discover a simple but life-changing truth: A Christian is someone who belongs to Jesus.
Jesus is not merely a teacher whose ideas survived Him. He died for our sins, rose from the grave, and is alive today. Because of the resurrection, He invites us to move from being passive observers to active participants in His life and mission. His invitation remains the same: “Follow Me.”

What happens when the Holy Spirit of God truly grips your soul?

We often use the word "conviction" flippantly to describe our personal opinions on politics, money, or lifestyle. But true biblical conviction isn’t an opinion you hold; it is a reality that holds you. It is the Holy Spirit dismantling our excuses, proving us wrong before God, and revealing that our only remedy is Jesus Christ.

In this powerful message, we journey from the historic streets of South Carolina - where a young boy named John Merritt set out to interrupt the great evangelist George Whitefield but ended up overwhelmed by the power of the Gospel - to the battle-hardened heart of a Vietnam veteran brought to his knees by grace.

What happens when God calls us to faithful service but hides the results from our view? Yet Scripture reveals a deeper reality—our lives are hidden with Christ in God, as Colossians 3:3 declares. This means God is doing ten thousand things in our circumstances while we may only be aware of three. The message challenges us to shift from living by validation to living by faith, from demanding that every seed we plant bear fruit tomorrow to trusting the One who holds all our tomorrows. We discover that our identity doesn't come from our assignments or accomplishments, but from being concealed in Christ. When the Father looks at us, He sees Jesus. This hidden life frees us from the exhausting burden of making our work carry the weight of our identity and allows us to serve faithfully even when we cannot see the harvest.
