Parenting is tough. But parenting the Son of God? How hard could that be? As Jesus enters his teenage years, Mary and Joseph begin to learn the cost of parenting the Messiah. For us, we can learn from them the cost of loving the Messiah.

God draws people to himself and he used the birth of Jesus and a star to draw some unlikely worshipers to himself. But these worshipers alert Herod to the birth of a new King. Kings don't like to hear about the birth of a rival King and Herod takes brutal steps to try to secure his reign. Through it all we see Jesus' mother Mary trying to make sense of it all and exercising faith in the face of fear.

Every parent has dreams and expectations for their children. Mary was no different. As her and Joseph follow the Jewish laws for circumcision and purification, they must have been proud beaming parents. But at the temple, a stranger would challenge their hopes and dreams and change the way everyone would understand the Messiah. Join us for this look at Mary in Luke 2:21-40.

Jesus birth would have been unusual for a normal child let alone the King of Israel. Join us as we consider Jesus birth from Mary's perspective in Luke 2:1-20 and how her expectations where probably not realized as she gave birth far from home in a stable.

Upon hearing from God that she was going to give birth to the Messiah, Mary turns to Elizabeth for encouragement. She seeks to have this news confirmed. She also sings the first Christmas carol, proclaiming the Good News of Jesus for all to hear. Join us as we take a look at the Gospel according to Mary.
