Over half of all marriages end in divorce. Families have fractured unbelievably. Most people admit that they don’t have a really close friend they trust to confide in. And, friendships don’t seem to last very long these days. Since this appears to be the reality of our culture, would it surprise you to find out that there is a way to help our relationships succeed? Working alone on a difficult task can make it seem like it’s never going to get done. But when we work together, it is amazing how much better we feel and how much more quickly we get that task finished. We continue our School of Rock series this Sunday with: Learn To Fly, by the Foo Fighters. Everyone is looking for a challenge or a great group of people to be a part of, we don’t have to do it alone.

So far in our School of Rock series, we have talked about God doing something in our church and in our homes. This week we make it as personal as we can get: God, do something in me! Our song this week is “Dare You To Move” by Switchfoot. Lead pastor David Beaty guides us through the swamp of our own past failures to pick ourselves up off the floor and move forward.

We want God to make a difference in our church, how about Him making that kind of difference in our homes as well! There is only so much we can do on our own. We need help to bring our families back to healthy.

For 10 years now we have taken the month of August and used it for our School of Rock message series. Every song tells a story. We take those stories and use them with a healthy dose of God’s Word and the result is a very unique approach to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ! This year our School of Rock is getting an update with newer songs and incredibly timeless truths. This week we will use “Fix You” by the band Cold Play.

This Sunday we wrap up our summer series from the Psalms. It's been quite an adventure to learn from the Psalm writers and to tie them together with the stories behind the Psalms. We’re living through the biggest communication shift of the last 500+ years and that has propelled the cultural changes in America exponentially faster as well.
