We have all been given gifts/abilities as well as boundaries/limits. But are we really thankful for both? In this week’s final installment of the School of Rock we will use Tesla’s: Love Song, to talk about how one of the most loving things God ever did for us was to put boundaries and limitations in our lives. It may sound counterintuitive, but then God usually has a better way of seeing things.

Our song for this weekend is: I’m In A Hurry… It was a big crossover hit for the band Alabama. It also happens to be the theme song for most of our lives! The thing is we all know that we are too busy, and the lack of real rest is catching up with us. Does God really care about this part of our lives? And if He does, does He offer any real help? These are the questions we will deal with this week.

Many of us are hurried, angry, exhausted and burned out. We long for the kind of refreshment that our souls desperately seek. The biggest problem we may face is that we have a hard time receiving help when it’s offered. We continue our School of Rock series with the Van Halen song: Jump. It should be very interesting to see how this song and our subject matter get tied together.

Every song tells a story and songs tell the story of our lives. This week we start one of our favorite series by pairing some rock and roll with a message from God’s Word. This week we use the Green Day song: Good Riddance (Time of Your Life) as we start a discussion on what God has to say about the ways we have been living our lives. Maybe God does care about how burned-out and worn-out and stressed-out we have become.

When someone mentions the word “heaven” what comes to your mind? And how do you communicate the idea of heaven to people who have no point of reference for it? Sure, we’re all going to die - but then what? Join us this Sunday morning, at 9 and 10:45, as lead pastor David Beaty helps us understand how real heaven is and why it’s such a big deal to those of us who follow Jesus Christ. This is definitely the week to bring a friend or two or three along.

When we’re forced to the edge of our ability, we have a choice to make. Will we choose the easy path, will we conform to become who and what others want us to be? Or will we have the courage to Be Who God Calls Us To Be? Join us as we spend the next 4 weeks learning from the life of Daniel. We will start this week by learning how to be unique. The world wants us to conform, to fit into the mold and be like everyone else. God, however, is calling you to be different, to be unique.
