Are we generous in our giving to help each other both physically and spiritually? Think of the ministry we could carry out together if we all had generous hearts like these first Christians.

One of the things that attracts people to a church is the fact that its people practice what they preach. We talk about God’s grace to us and His generous blessings upon us, but do we respond to that generosity by being like minded? The early church was a group of believers who were devoted to the Word, dedicated to fellowship, gathered weekly to break bread, lived a constant life of prayer, and discovered the joy of generous giving. They gave of their material wealth to support the ministry of the Word and also to respond to the physical needs of their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

In the Word of God, we discover a multitude of passages that help give us guidance on how, when, and what to pray. In this message, we're going to spend some time looking into the early church and they saw prayer as a break past of their daily lives.

On His last night before His trial and crucifixion, Jesus sat in the upper room with His disciples celebrating the Passover. They were remembering how God had saved Israel from Pharoah and the promise of the One to come again. Little did they know that Jesus was about to fulfill the Passover and make a new promise and a new covenant.

As we begin a new sermon series this Sunday, we find ourselves jumping into the 2nd Chapter of Acts and taking a peek at this newly formed group of people that we eventually called the church. The early church couldn’t get enough of their newfound life in Christ. So, they met together every day in each other’s houses and in the temple courts, trying to get as much as they could of this Jesus movement that was rapidly transforming Jerusalem and the surrounding communities.

We believe that the purpose of the church is recorded in God’s Word. It is our desire that everything we do as a church family reflects what God has designed us for. So, this Sunday, we invite you to come and join us as we take a deeper look at the church on purpose and see where you fit into the ministry here.

Where is our vision? What are we looking forward to in the future and are we innovative enough to survive the ever-changing world around us? But even more than that, are we bold enough to do what’s necessary to change the world around us for Christ?

We have a mission as a part of the worldwide church of Jesus Christ, and as a local congregation we have the same 3-fold mission as recorded in Acts.

The Miracle of the Manger has the ability to transcend time and traverse continents and touch lives from every generation. Who is this child that was born that night in Bethlehem? He’s none other than the Son of God come to save us from our sins.

The Miracle of Christmas is discovered in the Miracle of the Method. God’s ways are beyond our understanding and in the moment of His birth, God entered into this world in a manner that makes people stop and consider the incomprehensible aspect of the incarnation. How could the Glory and Majesty of Heaven be contained in the intricately small body of a babe? How could the God of the Universe, who cannot be confined within anything, be presented in such a tiny gift?

Communication is extremely important and unless we’re speaking each other’s language we’ll find it very difficult to understand one another. Here’s where the miracle of the message comes in. God, desiring to communicate with us on a more personal intimate level, made the decision, even before creating us, that He would enter this world in the form of man so He could interact with us on our level. What greater miracle could there have been? God put on flesh and blood in order for us to understand His heart truly demonstrates His amazing love for us!
