John brings us another sermon from out Road to Victory series. Today, we spend some time in Mark 11 where we discover Jesus is a bit hangry on his way into Jerusalem. The fig tree He encounters is deceptive and doesn't bear fruit much like the Temple was deceptive in its holiness. If we are to be disciples of Christ, we must bear fruit as we can't put on a facade, we must have depth to our faith.
John brings us a message from Matthew 24-25 where we learn that Christ's return in certain, but its timing is unknown. As disciples, we're called to watch faithfully, serve actively, and love sacrificially, until He comes.
In this new sermon series, The Road to Victory, we'll look at the final week of Jesus leading up to the cross and beyond, including His resurrection and post-resurrection appearances. This first sermon is focused on His triumphal entry into Jerusalem amid the misunderstandings of His establishing His kingdom.
Our final sermon sermon in our series, "Bedrock Faith." In this message, John takes a look at man's longing for something more than where he is. Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us the reason behind that is because God "has put eternity into man's heart." So, we'll examine not only that longing but what the reality is of life after death: heaven or hell and God's merciful response to eternity.
In our sermon today, John brings to us a message about the Church where we discover that the church is not a building or a weekly event. It is a redeemed people, united under Christ's authority, living in loving community, and sent on mission to glorify God by form disciples who reflect Christ to the world.
John takes us through Scripture exploring what the Bible says about the condition of mankind cornered by sin and what God has done to redeemed us all and make us holy. We'll look at the work of God and the response of man in the process of redemption.
John brings us a sermon on the Word of God, exploring its authority, inspiration, power, reliability, inerrancy, infallibility, its influence on history and its role as the source of truth and life from whence we establish our foundation of faith.
The first sermon in a new series, "Bedrock Faith." In this sermon, John walks through Scripture helping to identify the character of God. We take a look at the Godhead - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Three in One), and how He shapes everything about our lives.
Our final sermon in our Silver Bells series we find that in a world not so different than our - politically tense, economically pressured, spiritually weary - steps an old man named Simeon, standing in the temple of Jerusalem with one deep, unfulfilled longing: to see God keep His promise. A promise that to him has been only visible in black and white on the pages of prophetic history will soon become alive in vivid color through the meeting of an infant: Jesus.
In our second sermon in the Silver Bells series, we'll explore Isaiah 63:1-3 discover that Christmas feelings fade, but Christ's fulfillment remains. It's a message of hope, a message of reality, and a message of joy, reminding us that the true "feeling of Christmas" is not in the air - it's in the arrival of the One who came to bind up the brokenhearted and set captives free.
