Sometimes it seems like our world and Jesus’ world are really far apart. I always felt that distance when I read the words, “Do not worry…” in the Gospels. That always sounded nice, but not quite realistic. There is so much to worry about! Let’s take another look at those words this Sunday and see if there is anything in that ancient wisdom that might speak to our modern lives.

Abundance. That’s a word that comes to mind when I think about First Congo. God has blessed us abundantly. That word is related to the refrain we say each week as a prayer: May God’s love abound… We are asking for God’s love to come in abundance. And it always does. This Sunday we’ll read a familiar parable that reminds us of just how generous God can be with us - even in times when we struggle to recognize it.
