In a world full of opportunities for spiritual practice and exploration, where our individual spiritual needs can be met in countless ways, where we can serve our neighbors through nonprofits and civic organizations, and where Sabbath rest can feel increasingly out of step with the pace of modern life, it’s fair to ask:Why church? Why bother with church when there are so many other ways to grow spiritually, serve others, and make a difference? In the fourth sermon of our stewardship series, Why Grow. Serve. Share., we explore that question and consider what the world needs from a church like this—and why being part of this community matters.Because the world needs a church like this.

That always sounded nice, but not quite realistic. There is so much to worry about! Let’s take another look at those words this Sunday and see if there is anything in that ancient wisdom that might speak to our modern lives.
