Christ is returning someday, though nobody knows the day or the hour.  Jesus could return any second and we must be ready beforehand.  Jesus told a parable about a wedding and 10 virgins to help us understand what it means to be ready for his return.  This is important and timely.  Join us!

John's gospel begins not with the birth of Christ, but the pre-existent Word who created all things and became fully human, God with us.  Get the Word this Christmas!  Join us!

Mark's gospel doesn't include the genealogies of Christ, nor the events of John the Baptist's and Jesus' birth.  Mark's first sentence is incredible and very revealing.  John the Baptist's ministry and the ministry of Christ that follows prepares us all for Christmas in a fresh new way! Slaves?  Lots of different emotions and impressions can arise in our minds given our nations past.  Yet, the word “slave” is found in various forms about 150 times in the Greek New Testament but is often translated “servant” or “bondservant” instead.  Why?  What does it all mean for followers of Christ today?  This is really good to meditate on!

Pleasing God begins in perhaps the hardest place to do it, with our families.  Family isn't an 8 or 12 hour shift, it's a lifetime.  Children obeying their parents and parents not causing their children to despair is where it starts.  Join us as we seek to please God together!
