Sup, y'all? This episode was recorded the first day of Black History Month and it's good one! Kenny & Day Day discuss insensitivies, stereotypes, and misconceptions that are placed on the Black Community based on lived experiences that both have encountered both here in Bend and abroad. Adding onto that, they discuss entitlements and how there is an underbelly/unspoken entitlement over the Black community that manifests in gatekeeping and other ways. There are the usual tangents and connective conversations (like swag surfing/Taylor Swift, Oprah, People With Power, AAVE being banned in some schools but it's called "slang", and MUCH more)!

In the coming weeks, we'll be welcome Skyler Brown Evans and many other guests! STAY TUNED because THESE upcoming episodes go DEEP!

Whats up, y'all? This episode Day Day and Kenny go into the concept of "coming correct" and what that means within our community and the nuances of how that also involves empathy without placation. They also discuss having different layers to the second "talk" that you give Black kids growing up. THere are some deeper layers on this episode! Give it a listen and let us know what you think!

That's all for now!

Ok so we are doing shows every week now (That didn't take long). Big ups to everyone that's downloaded/rated us on the different apps and such. Every little bit helps. Here's what you get with today's show:.

• Dealing with students effected by racial bullying
• Increased frequency of racial bullying in schools (and in public)
• Lack of transparency in consequences for offending students
• The difference between Redmond and Bend school system approach
• The commercialization of DEI initiatives
• Several aspects of Bend and need to grow past the bare minimum
• Ujima Program and how it's evolved
• Empathy & Understanding

And we have a few side tangents per usual:

• The Grammys, Taylor Swift, Eminem and others
• Racists that lose their minds when anything "Black" is mentioned
• HipHop conversations
• and much much more!
