“Don’t judge me.” How many times a week do we hear that? But Paul’s words to the Corinthians are often misinterpreted. Mature Christians do have a responsibility to influence and, when needed, confront and correct fellow believers in love. Let’s look at how we do this without being jerks.

Through the Holy Spirit, and only the Holy spirit, Christians have access to a wisdom that the world cannot understand. Paul emphasizes this to a Corinthian church that had allowed the culture to set the agenda for their thinking.

Our new sermon series looks at Paul’s letter to a church marked by pride and division. In many ways it looked more like the world than like Jesus. As Paul addresses this wayward church, he zeroes in on the divine message on which church unity depends – the message of Christ crucified, and what that means to us all.
