001: First Episode! How to Go Viral, Gain Followers and Forget the Haters

Leave a review, comment, show us some love.   Connor and Brandon’s viral video tips covered in this episode: ● Find your voice and your own unique style. ● Having a great title and thumbnail people want to click on that give them the incentive to click to see more (i.e. a pic of Connor doing something crazy with a girl). ● Get people to click and stay to watch as much of the video as possible. ● Great quality of a video is important. Consider working with a production company to raise the video’s quality. ● Get your audience to watch another video after that. The more someone stays on YouTube after your video, the higher your own views. We think. ● Don’t worry about haters! YouTube has its own algorithm of suggesting videos and recommends videos to subscribers who like videos and subjects similar to yours. The way YouTube now shows recommended videos puts a little less emphasis on subscribers and more on getting YouTube to recommend your video. [13:32] Audience retention and watch time is extremely important! YouTube recommends videos that cause people to stay on YouTube and watch other YouTube videos, even on other channels. [16:51] The last 20 seconds of the video is called the End Screen. Make sure to have all your information on that so people can watch a video, preferably one of yours. [21:46] Having a good thumbnail and title are two of the most important aspects of having a video go viral. Keep your thumbnails close up to the camera, simple and not blocking the timestamp of the video.
