Jesus' words to the multitude demanded a response. So it is today when the Word of God is preached - we are called to respond. Everyone is waiting at a table desiring to be filled, satisfied. In this, the first of the I AM statements, Jesus declares, "I AM the Bread of Life." Pastor Josh Hall continues our BELIEVE series from the Gospel of John as we examine John 6:30-50. In this message, we will see:

1. The Shadow - vv. 30 - 34

    In the Old Testament, we see types, or "shadows," of Christ. Examples are:

    1) THE PASSOVER LAMB - a shadow of the perfect Lamb of God

    2) THE ARK - a shadow of salvation and safety from God's wrath

    3) JONAH in the belly of the great fish - a shadow of Christ's burial and resurrection

    4) THE MANNA - a shadow of Jesus, the True Bread 

2. The Substance - vv. 35 - 50

    The True Bread:

    1) SATISFIES our hunger

    2) DRAWS out the saved

    3) SAVES those whom He draws

Pastor Josh Hall continues his sermon series in the Gospel of John. Today's message from John 6:22-29 examines the question, "What's in it for me?" 

1. The Rebuke - vv. 26 - 27

    As background to Jesus' rebuke, Pastor Josh first takes a look at the crowd by going back to earlier verses in this chapter. Here we see:

    1) Their Delight (vv. 1 - 13)

    2) Their Desire (vv. 14 -14)

    3) Their Diligence (vv. 22 - 24)

2. The Command - vv. 28 - 29

Pastor Josh Hall continues his sermon series in the Gospel of John. Today, he examines the miracle of Jesus walking on the sea in John 6:16-21. Three things stand out:

1.  The Setting - vv. 16 - 17

2.  The Miracle - v. 18

     The Miracles within the Miracle:

     1) Jesus saw His disciples.

     2) Jesus walked on water.

     3) Jesus caused Peter to walk on water. (Matt. 14:28-31)

     4) Jesus caused the wind to stop.

     5) Jesus caused the boat to be immediately at the shore.

3.  The Response - vv. 19 - 21

     Three Responses:

     1) The disciples were frightened

     2) Jesus said, "It is I (egō eimi - I AM); do not be afraid."

     3) The disciples were glad to have Him in the boat.
