On Wednesday’s show, President Donald Trump insists that the U.S. already has ``very, very strong background checks'' for gun purchases and it appears that he is backing away from making changes to the system.  Some Jewish organizations and lawmakers are taking issue with remarks made by the President about Jewish voters.  Are we headed toward a recession? Michael talks it over with business correspondent Jessica Ettinger.  And Michael brings in  Louisville Kentucky reporter Chris Kenning  to talk about protesting coal miners blocking a coal train in Harlan County.

On Friday’s show, Israel's interior minister says he  granted a request by Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib to enter the Israeli-occupied West Bank on humanitarian grounds, this after barring the Congressowoman and her colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from visiting Israel.  Dale Earnhardt Junior and his family are recovering after a fiery plane crash Thursday afternoon. Tennessee authorities say no serious injuries were reported.  New York Times correspondent, Austin Ramzy joins Michael for conversation on the unrest in Hong Kong.

On Thursday’s show: Could the U-S be facing another recession? Some economic experts say problems across the globe are making it a possibility. The suspect in the Philadelphia police shooting standoff was in custody early on Thursday after a six police officers were wounded. 50 years ago today the Woodstock festival began, correspondent Steve Kastenbaum is at the site in Bethel NY, and checks in for a conversation with Michael.

On Wednesday’s show: The trade war with China took another turn Tuesday. The Trump administration has announced a delay or outright waivers on threatened tariffs. Another lawsuit has been filed by California against the Trump administration. Correspondent Sherisse Pham in Hong Kong checks in with Michael to discuss the ongoing protests there.

And Michael talks to Correspondent Rebecca Buck in Iowa about the state fair and the crush of Democratic candidates looking for votes.
