Hebrews 4 teaches us that we can have confidence to get mercy and help despite our sinfulness because we have a great High Priest, who is God, to advocate for us, and Man, to sympathize with us.

Hebrews 2 teaches us that we do not need to fear because our sovereign King entered our broken world to fix what we have broken.

Hebrews begins by telling us that Jesus is the exact, exalted, and exclusive Word of God and that no other voice should be louder in our lives than His.

At the end of the Psalm, David calls us to meditate on God’s goodness despite the chaos and His mercy that will eternally sustain us.

David teaches us that we can becalm in life when we let go of the shadows and look to our Shepherd.

“If you don’t learn to metabolize stress well, you will be vulnerable for an emotional escape.”

The first step to being calm is to consider who your shepherd is: He is powerful and personal, sustaining and satisfying.

In John 11, we see that in the face of death, we can turn to and trust in Jesus because He has forever defeated death for us.

In John 6, we learn that Jesus knows our biggest need, uses our smallest gift, and satisfies our deepest hunger.
