Paul is warning believers by telling them what to watch out for and what to hold on to. He is warning them not to fall into the slavery of bad religion but rest in their secure relationship in Jesus.

Paul is warning us not to be captured by the foolishness of the world but be captivated by the fullness of Jesus Christ.

Paul is a servant of Christ who is suffering for Christ in the strength of Christ.
