Our categories (and humans have evolved to categorize) are not god, god is not limited even by our own so called theism, we are called to be open to possibility, to be curious, and to know that in the end the transcendent is more fully experienced in the many ways that humanity and creation express goodness, compassion, and love. Do we have ears to hear?

“When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth . . .” The Spirit is wild, relational, in the world, in humanity, and always pushing, prodding, and convicting us into a deeper life, a more abundant life, a more humanizing life, a more real life, in place, time, history, and context. For the first Sunday in Lent, Dr. Jim Keck will show how truth meanders through different religious traditions by using Native American spirituality, Buddhist thought and ancient Greek religion to illuminate the Biblical texts that begin this holy season. However, as Christians the truth in our own tradition is only fully expressed in the Christ himself, not by a given doctrine or teaching. Join us this Sunday for a spiritual adventure through the texts.

As we prepare to continue to expand ways of being church we must be reminded of what it means to be church and what it means to be a spiritual community. What we do, and the ways in which we do those things are an extension of our desire to be a beloved community, providing saltiness and light in our world.
