Hang on a second... is it only those who feed, clothe, and visit the needy who will go to heaven? Does this mean that we can earn our salvation through good works? What happened to salvation through faith alone? Let's revisit Matthew 25 one more time and talk about the relationship between our faith and our deeds.

As we enter into a week of embodied learning, Pastor Tim will return to Matthew 25 and show how our Christian brothers and sisters in Kenya experience the gospel and how we can prepare to give generously to their needs.

We begin our emphasis on Matthew 25 and the care for less fortunate in our world by looking at the context of Jesus' parable itself. Who was there? How would they have received this message? What outcomes was Jesus hoping for?

Everybody's addicted to something, so the saying goes. How does scripture speak to the dark power of addiction? What are the spiritual issues at stake, and how can we take practical steps toward freedom from these prisons?

When to say something, when to just be quiet...tough questions indeed! In our current culture we are bombarded with information and opinions. Pastor Mark will take a look at the Bible and review some classic passages that will give some good insight.

If God already has the future planned out, can our prayers move him to change his plans? Are our petitions effective and meaningful, or does God's sovereignty imply that the future is fixed? Pastor Tim will explore the theology and Biblical references that help us understand why prayer is so important.
