Without the shedding of blood, resulting in the death of the sacrifice, there is no remission.

The Old Testament sacrificial system was symbolic of Jesus sacrifice on the cross. But unlike the many repeated sacrifices of animals, Jesus was the perfect sacrifice, shedding his blood once for all.

Jesus, our great high priest, has inaugurated a new covenant. It is different in a number of ways from the covenant of the law initiated at Mount Sinai.

Hebrews 6:20 - Jesus is a priest after the order of Mechizedek: Who is Melchizedek? King of Salem, priest of God Most High (see Genesis 14). Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of the plunder after his battle with the kings. Abraham thereby acknowledged that Melchizedek was his superior. Since Melchizedek is a type of Christ (not the other way around), Jesus is better than Abraham and Abraham's descendant .Levi, ancestor of the Levitical priests.

True Christians have assurance of salvation through faith demonstrated by their love and good works
