Maybe our self-righteous anger is best chanelled towards advocating for others instead of ourselves. There is no shortage of things to be angry about in this world and when we speak up on behalf of others we can be on our way towards selfless motives.
It is an easy temptation to let other people's expectations or opinions of us effect how we perceive ourselves. Sometimes we'll even act in certain ways in order to gain the approval of others. What would happen if we worried less about what other people thought and had more confidence in what God proclaims about us?
Have you ever heard the phrase "Turn the other cheek?" Not everyone knows this comes from the teachings of Jesus. But, seriously....really? What would it look like to literally and metaphorically turn the other cheek to all the ways that we are offended?
