As of November 30, 2024, Lake Texoma is offering some excellent fishing opportunities. Here’s what you need to know for a successful day on the water.
### Conditions
The water level is currently 2.54 feet below pool, with the water temperature at 65 degrees and a normal stained condition. Sunrise today is at 6:58 AM, and sunset will be at 5:02 PM.
### Fish Activity
Striped bass are the stars of the show right now, with reports of great catches using live shad, swimbaits, and slabs. Look for them under gulls on flats in 35-45 feet of water or drifting live shad on deep flats along the main river channels. Daily limits are common, especially when targeting midlake schools with slabs, swimbaits, and live bait. There's also some deadstick action to consider.
Black bass, both largemouth and smallmouth, are good on live shad and soft plastics along the bluffs and near the north bridges. As the temperatures drop, bass are becoming more active, chasing baits in shallower waters. Try Alabama rigs with flukes and hard baits off the banks towards the middle of shallow coves and near docks in 5-12 feet of water.
Crappie are fair on minnows, particularly when fishing structure on flats in 10-15 feet of water. While they are not as active as other species, using electronics to target active fish at the bottom of brush piles with jigs can be effective.
