Just a quick list of things I've learned as my eldest goes into week 3 of preschool.

Maybe making saying provocative things and making fun of a group of people for the sake of making money and affirming another group of people isn't the best way to bring people together. I know some of us don't want to be together, and that's their choice. I struggle with this part a lot.

The problem with the "I can't be this bc I have a friend in _______ community" is that your one friend may be the only one that tolerates your behavior in that community. Everyone is guilty of this in one way or another, myself included. Maybe "I have one friend who is part of a community, but I realize that they are not the representative or spokesperson for that community."

Some things I receive better because of who is telling it, and I initially look over things because of who is telling it. This is a bias that I possess.

When you have the freedom to do the things you care about, make sure you don't try to do them all at once.

He's going to do things on his own time. I need to support him in this all the time.
