Five Year Mission: The Podcast

In this episode Chris and Mike are joined by Dan Deevy of Gaaays in Spaaace. We have an in-depth conversation about the struggle to get LGBTQ properly represented in Sci Fi. We also discuss the origins of Gaaays in Spaaace and the current direction of the organization.

Dan also tells us what it was like growing up as a gay nerd in a world where both were taboo.

Oh yeah, and we discuss some Star Trek.

Enjoy!

This week we sat down with actor, philanthropist and book lover John Billingsley to talk about books, politics, religion and a little bit of Star Trek.

NOTE TO LISTENERS: If those topics aren’t for you, we have many other episodes to listen to. This episode also contains some language that may not be suitable for all listeners. Listener discretion is advised.

Whether you’ve never watched it, never gave it a shot or maybe just want to do a re-watch, this is our argument for why you should love DS9.

This week Mike and Fark are joined by Jacob Williams of the Punisher Body Count podcast to discuss DS9 episodes and characters. You know it’s good when we talked more about it for another 30 minutes after the mics turned off.

This week, the band sits down with two of our favorite people that help run one of our favorite small conventions, Brad and Claude of Concave.

Concave is the longest running fan convention in the greater Kentucky area and it dooooooesn’t hurt that they’ve added us to their festivities for the past few years. We’ll discuss Short Treks, fun con memories and all about that open bar that they have there.

The guys sit down to talk about this song from the Year Two album, and the TOS episode that inspired it!

This week, we resume a series we started a few years ago as we bring back, "What Are Little Songs Made Of?"

This series will look at a 5YM song as well as the episode behind it, and this week we'll take a look at the first track from the Year Two album!

Fark, Mike and Noah sit down to discuss the episode, "The Galileo Seven" from The Original Series as well as the song that was inspired by it.

YEAR TWO

Hear "The Galileo Seven" and the rest of the tracks on Year Two, available at FiveYearMission.net!

In this installment of Five Year Mission: The Podcast, we're joined by our first-ever guest.

Our good friend (and 5YM Superfan) Jim Moorhouse from the TrekRanks Podcast to discuss the sudden passing of DS9's Aron Eisenberg. We'll discuss Aron's career, his portrayal of Nog, and share some personal memories.

We'll also look at his standout episode of Deep Space Nine episode, "It's Only a Paper Moon."

Is it REEEEEEAL or is it a FAAAAAAKE? Mike and Fark take turns trying to stump each other with real and made up Star Trek facts. Tune in to learn something or maybe just groan at bad jokes.
