We’re starting a new series called “Against All Odds." As followers of Jesus, we need to navigate singleness, dating, marriage, and divorce God’s way, not the way of the world. The odds that you are struggling with romantic relationships today are high. Unfortunately, relationships in the church often look the same as those in the world. We have more resources than ever, but we are hurting and more confused than ever.

This Sunday, we will be talking about singleness and dating. What does God want for singles today? We will be trying to debunk some of the “myths” in our culture in a message titled, “Defy the Odds." How can all of us defy the odds and have successful relationships that honor the Lord?

This week we’re looking at one of my favorite chapters in the Bible, Ecclesiastes 2! We’re going to look at a character in the Bible who had all the opportunity to live on mission, but instead he chose a different path. A path that led to being miserable. Most of us are living an empty life or at times, feel miserable. What would it look like to live on mission with the life God has given to us? What does it look like to find true abundance in Christ?

This Sunday we will be unpacking the prosperity gospel! Does God want us wealthy, healthy, and happy on earth? Does he guarantee that? On top of that, we will be discussing how to discern if our generosity is really coming from a place of joy or from a place of greed. Abundance is a tricky thing. For the follower of Jesus, it is even more difficult to discern if the blessing is from God and for God, or if it comes from a place of selfish ambition.

Our money and emotions tend to go hand in hand. Whatever gets our time and attention is often reflected in how we use our money. Rather than having an attitude of, “I have to give,” what if we had the attitude of, “I get to give.” Our giving reflects our heart and behavior to our great God. This week we will be looking at Proverbs chapter 3!

This Sunday we kick off a new series, “The truth about abundance”. Money is not a bad thing. The problem is we often make it the goal when the Bible instructs us to use it as a tool. Money is a tough topic for the church. Most people have a bad experience with the church talking about money. Jesus talks a lot about money and if we’re going to follow him, we can’t run from the topic. This message is titled, “Trash or Treasure” from Matthew 6. I look forward to kicking off our first Sunday this year together!

This weekend we will be looking at the path to the Christmas story. What happened to lead to that moment of the nativity scene? What was God doing beforehand? And what did Jesus bring with him when he came? It’s an incredible story as we look and reflect on the goodness of God.

This week we continue our series by looking at the shepherds. They are an unlikely group to be in this story. If you study the shepherds in Jesus' day, they were unreliable outcasts that were not to be taken seriously. They worked too much, were not available for service, and yet, God uses them FIRST to tell others about the Good Shepherd! God called this no-name group and sent them out to share that the Savior of the world was here! Their boldness to share Jesus inspires me this time of year and I believe it will inspire you as well! I can’t wait to unpack this part of the story with you.

We will be looking at Jesus' earthly mother, Mary this Sunday. It’s an incredible story when you read it. God asks an ordinary woman to carry the Savior of the world! What was so special about her? Why did God pick her? What was the process God used to speak to her and use her? Mary was supporting cast for the savior and so are we!
