2021 has been the year of groups, from r&b, hip hop, doo-wop, and pop. The southern soul genre kicked off the year with its group in the mix. On January 5th, super-group Soul Southern made its debut with two simultaneous releases, ‘Down South Flava’ & ‘Trail Ride (Soul Out Mix)’. Shortly after, they followed with the dance anthem ‘Ain’t Nobody (Soul Out mix)’, along with its one-of-a-kind animated video. They flowed into the second half of the year with the controversial ‘Quit My Job’ and smoothed out ‘Once Upon a Time. Finally, to close a jammed-pack year, the group is releasing their signature title track, Soul Southern.

The namesake was written and produced by Marcell Cassanova and Charles ‘Kizzo’ Kizzee. Making the claim “the party don’t start til the night comes round, cause everything’s better when the sun goes down”. This feel-good tune comes just in time for all of the anticipated parties, trailrides, and other events. It’s sure to ride the momentum of the previous singles and be at the top of your playlist.
