In the fourth and final episode of our interview series with Liz Beck, founder of Hope For Addiction, we continue the conversation about what true, Gospel-centered recovery really looks like.
Liz explains how Hope For Addiction is helping both men and women move beyond temporary sobriety by building a biblical foundation that points people to lasting hope in Jesus Christ. Rather than simply teaching practical life skills, H4A focuses on discipleship, identity in Christ, accountability, and transformation through God’s Word so people do not return to the life that once enslaved them.
We also discuss how churches can come alongside addicts and their families in meaningful, biblical ways instead of outsourcing the problem. Liz shares what Hope For Addiction offers to churches, families, and individuals seeking help, resources, and support.

In Part 3 of our interview with Liz Beck, we focus on the beginning of Hope For Addiction and the burden God placed on her heart through years of real-life suffering and experience.
After walking through divorce, addiction in her own family, and the near-death battle of her brother’s addiction, Liz became convinced that the current recovery systems were falling short. Even when she couldn’t fully explain what was missing, she knew people needed something deeper than behavior management and temporary sobriety.
Instead of starting with existing recovery models and adding Bible verses to them, Liz shares how the vision for Hope For Addiction began by starting with Scripture itself—asking what God’s Word says about addiction, suffering, identity, repentance, healing, discipleship, and true transformation.
This episode explores the early vision behind Hope For Addiction, the questions that shaped it, and the foundation it was built upon. In Part 4, we’ll hear what that vision has grown into today.

In Part 2 of our interview with Liz Beck, founder of Hope For Addiction, we step into one of the most difficult and defining seasons of her life.
Liz shares what it was like raising two young children while her husband battled deep addiction—facing the chaos of infidelity, criminal behavior, and the daily uncertainty that comes with loving someone in active addiction. In the middle of it all, she clung to the only thing that didn’t change: her trust in God.
She also tells a heartbreaking story of being turned away by a church that felt her situation was “too messy.” But God wasn’t finished writing her story.
Liz shares how she found Center Church, where she was welcomed, loved, and supported—even as life continued to unravel. Through separation, divorce, and ultimately the tragic loss of her husband to an overdose, her church family remained faithful, walking with her through every step of grief and healing.
This episode is a powerful reminder of what the Church is called to be—and what it looks like to love people well in the middle of brokenness.

What really matters most in the Christian faith?
In this episode, 1st Things First, the guys tackle an important and often overlooked question: Is there a proper order to biblical truths and doctrine? Not every disagreement in the church carries the same weight—but too often, they’re treated like they do.
From essential doctrines like salvation through Christ alone, to debated topics like infant baptism, to preferences as minor as the color of the sanctuary carpet, Christians can find themselves divided. So how do we determine what should unite us—and what shouldn’t divide us?
Join the conversation as the guys explore:
This episode is a helpful guide for thinking clearly about theology, unity, and what it truly means to keep “first things first” in the life of the church.
