A surprise malfunction: the auto-off-on mode switch fell apart on my AC-1 audio computer that I built in 2018-19, around the time when I was moving my lab. This embedded system takes care of switching the power to the main hi-fi equipment (mixer, turntable, RIAA preamp, WS-1 tube amp, CD player, tape deck and tuner), acts as a networked audio interface and a network-attached storage for my digital music collection.
In the last few days a 3-position switch broke, rendering the unit unable to use. I will have to find a good replacement - in the mean time a workaround has to do. Figuring out which wires do what. Repair successful.
