One time Jesus was in this certain town and the people there were so bothered by him, they begged him to leave; they actually kicked him out of town. But then the next time that he was in the area, they were actually begging him to stay.

It's a new year and we're starting a new series at Flagstone called My Turn. Where I'm no longer going to be a spectator sitting on the sidelines watching other people make decisions,  make choices and make improvements in their life while I stay in the same rut and don't do anything different. There's a difference between guilt and shame. When I feel guilty, I feel bad about something that I did. If I feel shame, I feel bad about myself because of who I am. That can be because of something I did or because of some way that somebody else is even trying to make me feel. So I have these negative feelings by myself and who I am as a person and then it becomes even worse when I put on the mask and try to pretend that I don't have those feelings at all. We're gonna talk about unmasking our shame and living lives of freedom without shame in this lesson.
