After her stroke, Flannery experienced aphasia, which is a language disorder that affects a person's ability to communicate. Flannery shares what it was like not being able to communicate her thoughts and emotions in her early recovery period. Flannery also shares techniques and resources that were most effective in re-learning speech and other skills.
