Ming the Merciless is after ancient treasure hidden in a forbidden Tibetan valley — and it's up to Mandrake the Magician, Lothar, and a whip-wielding ally named Atascadero to beat his robot army to it. But when our heroes find the legendary "jewels," they get more than they bargained for: a mind-control trance, a warlord's private army, and a very angry mother dragon. Join host Patrick Cadigan as he discusses episode twelve of Defenders of the Earth, “The Mind Warriors Pt 02." Ming kidnaps Kshin and uses a powerful tool to transform the boy’s imagination into a team of evil “Mind Warriors,” who steal a doomsday warhead and overwhelm the Defenders. After Kshin’s friends rescue him and help him break free from mind control, he uses the same technology to enhance the Defenders, enabling them to defeat the Mind Warriors, redirect the warhead toward Ming’s base, and escape before its destruction.

The Defenders battle Ming's forces to protect the universe's greatest store of knowledge before it disappears for 2,000 years. Rick and Jedda are imprisoned as permanent "living examples of earth people," triggering a standoff until Ming blasts his way in with ice robots and seize a weapon of immense power. Through the power of goodness, Ming is defeated and Flash tells the team that tyrants like Ming must be dealt with before the Hall's wisdom can benefit everyone.
