Tom's guest today is local legend in the Journalism world with 40+ years under his belt. Don Effenberger is a local guy who understands state and local politics about as well as any journalist in town. He majored in journalism at the University of St. Thomas, started working as a reporter and then news editor at the Catholic Bulletin, and later moved on to the St. Paul Pioneer Press and MinnPost. One of MinnPost’s original editors when the site was launched in the fall of 2007.

Today, we pay tribute to Joyce Lamont. In December, 2014 she passed away at the age of 98. For 40 years she was broadcasting at WCCO and KLBB and was famous for her warm and folksy voice. Today we hope we can help you understand just how special she was to Minnesotan Broadcasting.
