Colie’s devotion to music and theatre led her to Washington, D.C. There she began touring and performing with various professional theatre productions, most notably, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. After concluding her theatre work, Colie turned her focus to developing her own distinctive sound. “I’ve always felt a strong connection to legends like Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Roberta Flack and Sade.” Spirited by the influence of these legendary greats, Colie began honing a melodious style all her own.

NeoSouljah's poetry combined with her 5 octave range and vocal stylings that excel in R&B, Jazz, Gospel and of course, Neo Soul have afforded her appearances on stages across the country from Jazz Festivals to church pulpits. She has also been found lending her vocals on open mic nights along with HBO Def Poets Abyss, Georgia Me and Malik Salaam to name a few. Most recently, Neo hosted the First Inaugural Tri-C Jazz fest Jam and Poetry session, lending her vocals to an impromptu jazz session accompanied by Hubb's Groove ft. World Renowned Grammy award winning Jazz trumpeter Sean Jones.
