Fleet Meet: How Sustainable Development Goals Will Impact Fleets

Listen Later

Fleet Meet is an interactive dialogue discussing the latest global trends in fleet management and contrasting their impact in the U.S. and the European fleet markets that is co-presented by AF Editor Mike Antich and Hans Damen, managing partner for Fleet360.

Today's topic includes a discussion on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which is a collection of 17 interlinked global goals developed by the United Nations that are designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.” The SDGs were set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by 2030.

Today’s topics include:

  • Corporations adopt SDG goals on a voluntary basis and comply with required reporting requirements.
  • Fleet operations at participating corporations play an integral role in helping to achieve SDG goals dealing with sustainability or reducing the corporation’s greenhouse footprint.
  • SDG goals extend beyond the participating corporation and also includes suppliers in the corporate supply chain.
  • Mario Moses, manager mobility, global mobility at Bayer Corporation, explains the process of identifying regions where to electrify the company’s local fleet operations.
  • Email your comments and suggestions for future topics of Fleet Meet so we can address them!
