If you've had your eye on some of these, maybe we can help you decide if they're worth watching. First, wekick things off with the surprisingly violent new Kevin Costnerjoint. Enjoy!
IN THEATERS
Criminal - Fun? Derivative? Both?
THEME MOVIES
The Woodlanders - Solid representation of Anne's Netflixhabits.
TiMER - Would you get one?
Perfect Sense - Solid title for this tragic romance.
The Road Within - Incredibly UNcatchy title that Hannah cannever remember.

Thanks for checking out episode 82! This time around, we discuss a few biopics about musicians. Though they may not all be entirely accurate, it was one of the more educational episodes for us. Our new movie this week is an indie rom-com starring Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick. Enjoy!
IN THEATERS
Mr. Right - Could this one actually be too short?
THEME MOVIES
Great Balls of Fire! - A light-hearted romp about incestuous statutory rape.
What's Love Got to Do with It - Did you know Tina Turner was famous in the 60s?
Selena - We spoil this one but we're banking on Anne having been the only one left who didn't know the story.
Straight Outta Compton - Not perfect but definitely worth seeing.

Anne is a big fan of German cinema so for episode 81 we watched a few movies by the late, great Fritz Lang. We kick things off with a sequel we were mildly excited about but left us feeling underwhelmed. Enjoy!
IN THEATERS
My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 - As a concept, it's not a terrible idea. The execution leaves something to be desired.
THEME MOVIES
Metropolis - I wish I could dance like that. Anne's got it down.
M - Listen to this one.
You Only Live Once - YOLO! (and life's a bummer, apparently)
The Big Heat - Were twist endings a thing in the old days?

It's episode 80 so you know what that means! It's a commentary episode. Watch along with us as the mystery unravels in the Hayden Christensen thriller Awake. Shared pain is half pain, right? Enjoy!

The films in episode 77 sparked some pretty good conversation, despite the fact that they don't have much in common. We took a look at a few movies with "Breakfast" in the title and kick things off with Natalie Portman's new western that, um, no one is talking about. Enjoy!
IN THEATERS
Jane Got a Gun - Or Jane Had a Rifle but Now Got a Handgun
THEME MOVIES
Breakfast at Tiffany's - My huckleberry friend.
The Breakfast Club - Are we growing out of this one?
Breakfast on Pluto - We had surprisingly different viewing experiences with this one.
Bed & Breakfast: Love is a Happy Accident - Serendipity?

No new movie this week. We're not particularly enthused by what's currently in theaters, which lead us to discuss our feelings about this year's Academy Awards. We decided to focus episode 76 on the loss of Alan Rickman and we chose 5 movies that star the ever-charming (and sometimes diabolical) British actor. Enjoy!
THEME MOVIES
Die Hard - He's the title character.
Truly Madly Deeply - Unfortunately, the Savage Garden song won't come out for another 6 years.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - Not the title character, but he certainly steals the show.
Galaxy Quest - "By Grabthar's hammer, you shall be avenged."
The Search for John Gissing - Once again, the title character.

Grab the tissues this week, folks! In episode 75, we discuss movies where characters deal with cancer. These are some cathartic favorites for Hannah. As always, we kick things off with a movie currently in theaters (that is not much more joyful than those in the theme but may prepare you for oscar season). Enjoy!
IN THEATERS
Concussion - My brain bruises like a peach.
THEME MOVIES
Stepmom - Life is hard for kids. And adults. And everyone.
A Little Bit of Heaven - Maybe cheesier than the others but small and beautiful (and I'm not just talking about Gael Garcia Bernal).
50/50 - Grittier than the others, in a good way.
The Fault in Our Stars - Kinda wish this came out when we were 15.

Happy holidays, listeners! It's episode 74. This time around, we chat about some more musicals, specifically those written by Rodgers & Hammerstein. We also checked out the latest movie in the Rocky franchise, despite not being particularly familiar with its predecessors. Enjoy!
IN THEATERS
Creed: It seems Michael B. Jordan may, in fact, be perfect.
THEME MOVIES
The King and I (1956): Shall we dance? Why, yes, we shall.
South Pacific (1958): Some enchanted evening, you may see strange colors.
The Sound of Music (1965): The first three notes just happen to be pretty great.
