Make disciples as we are going, baptize and teach disciples.

Washing our hands of Jesus is a refusal to engage Jesus, is motivated by fear, is an attempt at innocence, and doesn't work.

Every disciple fails Jesus, we pretend we are not failures, Jesus died for failures.
