  • Christmas: God's Promise and Presence (with Kaleb Roth)

In this episode Pastor Karl Roth's son Kaleb takes the stage and explains how many of us face moments when we feel uncertain about God's direction or timing. It can be difficult to trust Him, especially when things don’t turn out as expected or when we see others seemingly ahead of us. Yet, we are reminded that God's promises are steadfast. The Christmas story is the greatest reminder of His faithfulness—Jesus’ birth, life, and sacrifice reveal His deep love for us and His promise of salvation. No matter the challenges we face, we are called to trust that God's timing is perfect, and that His faithfulness is unchanging.
In times of uncertainty, it’s essential to reflect on the blessings and moments of deliverance God has already brought us through. Just like the Israelites were instructed to remember God’s provision with a token of manna, we too are called to remember how God has been faithful in our lives. This season, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, let it be a reminder that God's promises—of forgiveness, love, mercy, and protection—are always true and worth believing in. By trusting in His promises, we gain the strength to navigate life’s struggles, knowing that He will deliver us once more.

  • Chapter 19-21 |The Book of Judges: From Destruction to Deliverance

Pastor Karl reflects on the tragic final chapters of the Book of Judges, where the Israelites, in their misguided efforts to punish the tribe of Benjamin, end up causing even more destruction. He discusses the consequences of sin when left unchecked, showing how it affects not only the individual but others as well. Pastor Karl emphasizes the importance of seeking God’s will, rather than doing what seems right in our own eyes.
He reminds the congregation that the Book of Judges serves as a warning about the pervasiveness of sin, and how it can spiral out of control when not dealt with. Pastor Karl encourages everyone to stay close to God, surrendering their hearts to Him, and to always seek His guidance, recognizing that God’s ways are always higher than our own.

  • Chapter 17-18 |The Book of Judges: From Destruction to Deliverance

In this episode, Pastor Karl explores the dangers of compromise and idolatry, using the story of the tribe of Dan in the Old Testament as a powerful example. Through the narrative of Micah’s idols and the tribe’s eventual descent into idol worship, Pastor Karl highlights how small compromises can lead to devastating consequences, affecting not just individuals but entire communities. He reflects on the Levite priest’s desire for a larger congregation as a warning against seeking worldly success and emphasizes the importance of unwavering commitment to God’s commands. Pastor Karl also discusses the omission of Ephraim and Dan from the list of tribes in Revelation, connecting it to their involvement in idolatry, and the consequences of rejecting God’s path. The episode concludes with a reflection on living a life focused on Christ alone, with no turning back.

  • Chapter 16 |The Book of Judges: From Destruction to Deliverance

In this powerful sermon, Pastor Roth dives deep into the story of Samson from Judges 16, examining the tragic fall of a great conqueror who never allowed God to conquer him. Drawing lessons from Samson’s compromise and the devastating consequences of living outside of God's will, Pastor Roth highlights the importance of repentance, acknowledging our failures, and allowing God to lead our lives. As the story of Judges continues, Pastor Roth encourages us to learn from the lives of the biblical figures, not to imitate their mistakes but to understand the lessons they offer. Through the themes of God's mercy, grace, and justice, this message calls us to turn from compromise and submit fully to God's call.

  • Chapter 14-15 |The Book of Judges: From Destruction to Deliverance

In this episode, we dive into the powerful yet cautionary tale of Samson from the Book of Judges, where the story of this complex figure occupies a significant portion of the text. Samson’s life illustrates how a lack of discipline, both from his upbringing and in his personal choices, shaped his destiny and impacted his role as a leader in Israel. Called from birth to uphold the Nazarite vow, Samson's journey is marked by defiance and retaliation rather than obedience. We explore his missteps, especially his decision to engage with people outside of God’s kingdom, and how this path of compromise and self-will culminated in a series of personal and spiritual downfalls. The seven-day feast leading up to his wedding—an event drenched in indulgence and a departure from his calling—reveals the trajectory of a life lived on his own terms. This episode challenges us to consider the power of discipline, the importance of choosing godly influences, and the greater peace that comes when we surrender to God’s rule over our lives. Tune in as we unpack Samson’s life and reflect on how his story may resonate with us today.

  • Chapter 13-14 |The Book of Judges: From Destruction to Deliverance

In this episode, we continue our study through the Book of Judges, focusing on the introduction of Samson, one of the most well-known judges in Israel's history. Nearly 20% of the book is dedicated to Samson’s story, which begins in chapter 13. But before diving into his life, we reflect on the lesser-known judges mentioned in chapter 12—leaders whose names the world may forget, but whose faithfulness is remembered by God. We explore the powerful truth that even when we feel invisible, God knows and remembers those who revere Him.

As we move into the story of Samson, we are reminded of the recurring cycle of sin and deliverance among the Israelites, reflecting a pattern we often see in our own lives. Despite Israel’s repeated disobedience, God’s mercy leads to their deliverance time and time again. This episode challenges us to recognize the dangers of self-promotion and to value being known by God, rather than seeking recognition from the world. Through the example of Samson and the Philistines’ 40-year rule over Israel, we examine how God allows pain to bring us back to Him, guiding us through His grace and mercy.

  • Chapter 10-12 |The Book of Judges: From Destruction to Deliverance

In this episode, we explore Judges chapters 10-12, focusing on how God led His people during times of trouble by raising up military leaders. The cyclical pattern of the Israelites crying out for help, being rescued by God’s mercy, and then falling back into sin reveals a deeper truth about human nature and God's unwavering grace. We delve into the stories of leaders like Tola, son of Puah, and Jair, discovering the prophetic significance of Tola's name, which means "worm." This name connects to Psalm 22:6, where Christ is described as the ultimate sacrifice, bringing life through His death on the cross. The episode also challenges us to consider whether our lives are driven by affluence or influence. Drawing from the example of King David, who is remembered not for his wealth but for serving God's purpose, we reflect on how we can live a life of lasting impact rather than one focused solely on material success.
