Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly, and welcome to the Florida Weather Podcast for Saturday, February 21st.
Folks, here's the deal. Florida hit 88 degrees today. By Monday morning, some of you're scraping frost off your windshields. That's not a typo. That's a 50 degree temperature swing in about 48 hours.
Soak in tonight's warmth because it's the last you'll feel for a while. Down in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, you're still sitting at 67 degrees overnight. Feels like a summer evening. Enjoy it. Tomorrow a cold front barrels through and drops you to 64 degrees for a high. Sunday night? 51. By Monday morning, inland spots like Belle Glade could flirt with the upper 30s. Wind chills in the 20s. In Florida. Let that sink in.
Head up to Orlando and the drama gets louder. You hit 88 today. Sunday morning brings thunderstorms rolling through between 8 A.M. and 2 P.M. By afternoon you're struggling to reach 56 degrees. Monday morning? 34 degrees. That's frost on your windshield territory.
Over in Tampa Bay, patchy fog tonight gives way to rain showers Sunday morning. Your high tomorrow? 55 degrees. That's a 30 degree nosedive from today. Up near Jacksonville and Tallahassee, the front hits first. Sunday's high barely cracks 52 degrees with northwest gusts to 23 miles an hour. Monday morning wind chills drop into the upper 20s.
One big warning. Fire danger is critical Sunday and Monday. Humidity crashes into the 20s, winds stay gusty. Red Flag Warnings are up statewide. No outdoor burning. None.
Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Monday and Tuesday mornings are brutal. Widespread 30s, some upper 20s in North Florida. Protect those plants. But by Wednesday, you're climbing back into the 70s. Friday? Near 80 again. Winter's visit is short but sharp.
Alright. If this forecast helped you plan your week, share it with a neighbor. Word of mouth keeps us going.
That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. Stay safe out there, folks!
