A native of Chicago, Modi G is a ‘cancer’ who moves off feelings, emotions, and intellect. She loves hard and the result of that type of love put her into a deep depression. Depression can be a crippling disease, but Modi was and still is resilient and refuses to let it get the best of her. Modi is an Author, blogger, and writer for men and women of all ages. She blogs about controversial topics based on love, life, and relationships. A graduate of Fisk University, Modi fell in love with literature as she earned her degree in English. Modi’s passion for writing keeps her depression and anxiety at bay. Modi G talks to students and audiences about her book with a focus on self-esteem, healthy relationships, and eliminating the stigma of seeking help for mental health challenges. As an HBCU graduate, Modi has a special interest in addressing these issues for black women.

Mind Over Modi
In Modi G’s own words: “My blogs are a constant battle with my mind and my heart IN EVERY TOPIC. My heart is the core of me and my mind being the facts and knowledge that I’ve learned and feel in my gut. They battle it out and may the best woman win.” Check out Modi G’s latest post, “Forbidden Quickie” and follow the journey Modi’s pen creates for her readers.

Today’s episode is about how I’ve been secretly married for over three months🤐.. You’ll find out why we got married a year earlier than planned, why we’ve kept it on the quiet, and why we don’t want to keep it a secret anymore. It was unplanned and a year ahead of the formal wedding we had been planning for over a year. The pandemic definitely changed our lives & shifted all of our 2020💃🏽 & 2021 plans👰🏾. It’s ultimately for the better because I got a special head start on forever with my best friend. Yes, I still get sad and overwhelmed at the thought of skipping over special premarital events like a bridal shower💔, bachelorette party💔, and Traditional Ghanaian Engagement/Wedding 💔.
We’re still praying that we’ll be able to celebrate with our loved ones & have the wedding of our dreams when it’s safe to do so!
I want us to flourish in love!
