Ellis Gelios checked in with Veg Ingram on the Flow Friday Sports Show this week, as the President of the Gawler and Districts Softball Association unpacked the latest Gawler Softball action.

As well as previewing this weekend's matches across the mounds, Ingram weighed in on whether the young 12-year-old star Sienna Sutton could soon find herself representing an older age group off the back of her recent exploits.

Ingram took the opportunity to tell Flow FM listeners exactly why the tee-ball component of the association's Saturday schedule is so crucial with regards to the development of budding young softball stars in and around Gawler.

Ingram also gave a final call-out for locally based listeners with a softball interest to purchase tickets to tomorrow night's 40-year anniversary celebrations.

Dan 'the basketball man' Crouch appeared on the Arvo Flow sports hour this week to unpack the latest NBA matches and transfer deadline period's biggest movers.

The Brooklyn Nets changed over their roster in the biggest news, moving star forward Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns in a blockbuster trade.

Crouch also provided his analytical insights on another huge schedule of NBA games which played out across both the Eastern and Western Conferences this week.

With the business end of the NBL season also in full swing Crouch stated whether he believes any team can get close to the current champions, the Sydney Kings.

Jon Thurlow, Naracoorte United Soccer Club President, appeared on the Flow Friday Sports Show to discuss the biggest weekend of football in the Limestone Coast's history.

Despite existing since the late sixties, prior to last weekend, the club had never been afforded the opportunity to host an elite club from the South Australian capital.

It was the Adelaide Cobras visiting Naracoorte in a dream Australia Cup fixture.

However, despite the result not going his side's way, Thurlow told Flow FM that Naracoorte's players enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience in front of a bumper crowd at the Naracoorte and District Sports Centre.

The final result was a 0-5 win for the Cobras.

Eddie Dadds appeared on the Arvo Flow sports hour this week, phoning in from Vancouver to discuss the 2023 Superbowl and whether the Chiefs were good value and what his thoughts were on the half-time entertainment. Other discussion points included Nick Riewoldt making a shock appearance on American TV, the baffling moment in Scottish football between Rangers and Patrick Thistle in the Scottish Cup from last weekend, an NRL player coming clean over the infamous 'toilet cubicle' footage which infamously circulated across the net along with a little 2023 AFL teaser thrown in for good measure on this week's segment.

The Ouyen Rams are preparing for this weekend's local area derby match against Tempy Tigers, but club President Dom Leach was having none of the A-Grade side's current media hype, insisting players are being encouraged to take things on a week-by-week basis.

The Rams comfortably overcame Millewa on the weekend, though this weekend could be a different gravy altogether with the visit of fierce rivals, the Tempy Tigers to Blackburn Park on Saturday.

While Leach emphasised his optimism in the ability of his Ouyen troops, particularly Brad Parsons who has demonstrated incredible form recently, cricket might be the overall winner on the day on Saturday with the inaugural trivia night to be held at the club following the day's play.

Egan Regnier unpacked the latest Southern Ports Tennis action on the Flow Friday Sports Show this week after stunning observers with his abscence from the Robe Roosters' line up last weekend.

Flow FM announcers, Rikki Lambert and Ellis Gelios, digested the latest Flinders Uni research on negative effects of 3-5 year old kids starting sport too early on the Flow Friday Sports Show.

Lambert, who hosts the Breaky Flow from 6am on weekdays on Flow FM, is also a grassroots soccer coach in his spare time and was at odds with some of the points raised in the recent report.

Lambert reinforced on a number of occasions that whether parents wanted to facilitate a competetive nature for their young children or not, the most fundamental objective for all parents should be to afford their children the chance to develop 'core skills'.

He argued that across some metro and most regional areas that the best way to guarantee young children an environment in which they can best develop is to have them partake in organised sport.

Veg Ingram, Gawler and Disctrics Softball Association President, floated the upcoming SAPSASA softball action on her segment on this week's Flow Friday Sports Show.

SAPSASA is a representative school-run carnival in South Australia which exposes some of the most talented young sports stars to wider audiences across the state.

Ingram also offered her predictions ahead of this week's Gawler Giants blockbuster clash as well as the regular competition's unfolding across the mounds this weekend.

Ingram also reminded listeners that the 40-year anniversary dinner is fast approaching and that they should consider purchasing tickets immediately.

Perry Mitris is undoubtedly the household name local Limestone Coast football observers are looking forward to watching their team, Naracoorte United, come up against in Saturday afternoon's Australia Cup qualifying round. Mitris is a highly accomplished Adelaide-based player, who most recently made local headlines for following in his father's footsteps in representing the historic South Australian club with Cypriot roots, Adelaide Cobras FC after a storied career. Mitris was a standout player for West Adelaide FC in 2015, helping the former NSL giant capture the National Premier Leagues SA title with his goal scoring prowess. In 2014, he was a key cog in the Metrostars machine which went on to win the Australian National Premier Leagues football competition, while in 2010, Mitris was one of Adelaide United's standout young talents and was offered a place in the club's 2009/10 Asian Champions League roster.

Mitris is one of the numerous Cobras stars who will grace the football pitch at the Naracoorte and District Sports Centre, affording Naracoorte's humble squad members the opportunity to test themselves against some of the state's top talents.

Despite many viewing the clash as a 'David vs. Goliath' type affair, Mitris told the Flow Friday Sports Show that his teammates were equally as excited as their counterparts to match it with one of regional South Australia's unknown quantities.

One of the other reasons as to why Mitris and the Adelaide Cobras squad are so eager to touch down on the Limestone Coast has to do with the rare prospect of the side being able to travel together with the Cobras' travel itinerary including a one-night stay in Naracoorte.

Cobras fans will be treated to an intriguing competitive hit-out with their season set to officially kick-off at home to the Adelaide Blue Eagles next weekend.
