Cs: Na konci léta, ve starodávném internátu s vysokými stropy a spletitými chodbami, se studenti po dlouhém dni vyučování shromáždili na nádvoří.
En: At the end of summer, in an ancient boarding school with high ceilings and winding corridors, students gathered in the courtyard after a long day of lessons.

Cs: V houfu přátel a spolužáků seděl Vojtěch, mladík s tajným snem stát se detektivem.
En: In a group of friends and classmates sat Vojtěch, a young man with the secret dream of becoming a detective.

Cs: Vedle něj byla Petra, jeho nejlepší kamarádka, která kolem sebe roztáčela logické úvahy jako kaleidoskop.
En: Next to him was Petra, his best friend, who spun logical thoughts around her like a kaleidoscope.

Cs: Na druhém konci nádvoří stála Adela, zodpovědná za školní akce, s obavami v očích.

Cs: Ale cesta nebyla snadná.
En: But the path was not easy.

Cs: Ředitelka školy byla rozlícená a omezila pohyb studentů.
En: The school principal was furious and had restricted student movement.

Cs: Navíc se školou šířily divoké zvěsti, které situaci jen ztěžovaly.
En: Additionally, wild rumors were spreading throughout the school, complicating the situation even further.

Cs: „Adelo, počkejte, než to oznámíte ředitelce,“ přemlouval Vojtěch, když ji potkal na chodbě.
En: "Adelo, wait before you report this to the principal," Vojtěch pleaded when he met her in the hallway.

Cs: „Petra a já chceme zjistit, co se s tou sovou stalo.
En: "Petra and I want to find out what happened to that owl.

Cs: Dejte nám trochu času.
En: Give us a little time."

Cs: “„Dobře,“ odpověděla Adela, stále trochu váhavá, ale rozhodnutá důvěřovat Vojtěchovým schopnostem.
En: "Alright," replied Adela, still slightly hesitant but determined to trust Vojtěch's abilities.

Cs: V noci, kdy ostatní studenti spali, se Vojtěch a Petra vydali na průzkum.
En: At night, while the other students slept, Vojtěch and Petra went on their quest.

Cs: Procházeli tichými chodbami, poslouchali zvěsti a šeptané dojmy.
En: They walked through the silent corridors, listening to rumors and whispered impressions.

Cs: „Musíme se podívat všude,“ šeptla Petra, když prošli ukníkajícími dveřmi do zakázané části budovy.

Cs: "Nebojte se, chtěl jsem si jen trošku zažertovat před odchodem do důchodu," řekl a usmál se šibalským úsměvem.
En: "Don't worry, I just wanted to play a little joke before retiring," he said, smiling mischievously.

Cs: Vojtěch a Petra, s pocitem vítězství a očima zářícíma nadšením, vrátili sovu na své místo přesně před plánovanou školní akcí.
En: Vojtěch and Petra, with a sense of victory and eyes gleaming with excitement, returned the owl to its place just in time before the planned school event.

Cs: Zdařilý návrat jim zajistil nejen potlesk spolužáků, ale také první Vojtěchův článek ve školním časopise, „Sova se vrací.
