Pandemic, war, famine, accidents, suicide, aging parents and dying grandparents. No matter where we look in this world, since mankind’s fall into sin, the reality and threat of death is something we constantly find ourselves faced with. So, how do we deal with this? The world around us would have you either deny or ignore it or make you believe we’ll soon be able to cure it. But what if death has already been cured? And, therefore, what if the way to deal with death is not by denying or ignoring it, but by looking to the one who conquered it and gives hope beyond it? This elective will focus on the living hope we have in Christ, noting that – though we do grieve it and may even fear it – Christ is able to give hope and peace when dealing with death.
