Pernah dengar tentang 'Pharmacogenomics'? Itu adalah bidang studi yang mempelajari bagaimana struktur genetika seseorang merespon suatu obat. Levana 'Levi' Sani adalah salah satu pendiri Nalagenetics, yaitu perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang kesehatan dan teknologi. Nalagenetics mempunyai misi untuk mengurangi efek 'adverse drug reactions' dari obat, dan menambahkan efisiensi dari obat berbasis resep. Levi membahas tentang betapa pentingnya untuk menggunakan metode ilmiah atau scientific method dalam Nalagenetics dan dalam hidup sehari-hari. Kita juga membahas tentang perjalanannya dalam menemukan passion, mentor serta cara mengatur relasi dengan seorang atasan.  Sebelum memulai Nalagenetics, Levi bekerja di Genome Institute of Singapore dan merupakan lulusan MBA dari Harvard Business School.

Ever heard of 'Phamarcogenomics'? It is the study of how our genes could effect the our bodies' response to drugs. Levana Sani or Levi is the co-founder of Nalagenetics, which is a health-tech startup based out of Jakarta and Singapore. Nalagenetics has a mission to reduce Adverse Drug Reactions and improve the efficiency of prescription based medicine. In our chat, Levi talks about the importance of applying the scientific approach in work-life and beyond. Also, we highlight her journey of following a curiosity driven career, finding mentors, and managing your manager. Previously, she worked at the Genome Institute of Singapore, and she completed an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Sebuah perusahaan arsitek dengan 15 orang yang telah mengukir dunia arsitektur di Indonesia. Beberapa contoh dari karyanya adalah Social House, Skye, Cikajang Mix House (Mr. Sunday). Architecture is a unique form of art. It is commonly understood as the science behind buildings creation. However, it is so much more than that! Architects paint the big picture that helps to turn ideas and dreams into a spatial experience.

In FML EPS 08, we had a conversation with Willis Kusuma. He is the founder and Principal Architect of Willis Kusuma Architects (WKA). It is a small firm of 15 people which has defined the Indonesian architectural milieu and beyond. Some of his most well known works are: Social House, Skye, Cikajang Mix House (Mr. Sunday). WKA has a distinctive style of ‘modernity-meets-functionality’. It is personal, timeless, and in Willis’ own words, “could change your way of life.”

We talked about the Willis’ experience of running his own firm, asserting his creative voice, and the nature of architecture as a professional career.

Before founding WKA, Willis did a stint in Richard Meier & Partners Architects office in Los Angeles, CA and he earned his Masters of Architecture from University of Florida. Produced by Praisten T.

Who says that you have to live a couple of decades before writing a book? Meet Abigail and Grace. They are two 20-somethings who just realized their passion project, The Lalita Project, an online community (@lalitaproject) and an illustrated book which highlights Indonesian women role models.

The idea began when Abby and Grace had a conversation about role-models. And, soon they realized that there was no outlet that unites modern Indonesian women. Their curiosity and hard-work led them to meet and write the stories of 51 inspiring Indonesian women such as Najwa Shihab, Sri Mulyani, and the likes. Moreover, they collaborated with 51 different illustrators on illustrations used in each one of the figure’s story.

The FML team had the chance to speak with Abby and Grace about their project. We talked about what this project means for them, and what they have learned throughout the journey. We are excited to share their story to you because what Abby and Grace exemplified is impactful. Despite their commitments as full-time college students, they managed to put in the efforts to create an online community and a book. One key takeaway from their story is that don’t be afraid to start, because you will learn everything in the process! (Produced by Praisten T)

Politics is a strong word. As we know it, people who enter this field have certain agenda and aspirations to be achieved. For Michael Victor Sianipar, the Head of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Jakarta Provincial Branch, it is about having the humility and selflessness in serving his party members and beyond. In EPS 04, we talked about Mike's journey into the field of politics. Then, we dissected the core vision of PSI and Mike's personal experiences throughout his roller coaster journey as a young politician.

In FML’s EPS 003, we had the opportunity to chat with Ludovica Jessica Kwok, a rising Indonesian beauty influencer and Youtuber. Jessica started her career from a college project.

We discussed about her steps in making the leap from being an employee at a digital startup to being her own boss. 

Beyond creating make-up and fashion guide content, Jessica forms deep connections with her followers to embrace self-love and to develop confidence in your own skin.

In EPS 02, we have Runny Rudiyanti who currently serves at the Public Affairs team for GO-PAY, one of Indonesia's largest digital payment companies. She also runs a women-focused NGO called Her Dreams, which aims at educating less fortunate school children in Jakarta.

We are pumped to share Runny's story because we are inspired by her courage and stamina in finding her purpose and scaling impact in her daily craft.

Welcome back peeps! In the first episode, we talked about crafting your own path and following your dreams with Heston. He is a DJ, music director, and the co-founder of Dexter Sound, a music production house. After going to music school in Boston, he spent a year freelancing for gigs in the US, and went back to Jakarta to start his music career professionally. We also discussed about the nature of the local music industry, and Heston’s philosophy as a leading creative millennial.
