Tobi demystifies the industry for us, explaining what private equity actually is and where it sits in the financial services industry. We also delve into the different routes into the industry and that whilst there is a preference for those from M&A, there are multiple routes into the industry. Furthermore, we look at how the unique skillset needed for private equity and why it takes a particular character to succeed in the industry.
Lastly, we also look into the issue of diversity in the private equity, looking at the impact of the 100 black interns on the diversity of the industry and why it will take a few years before the structural change will occur.

We welcomed Amari Korpal - who interned in the communication department - on to the show where we went through her role and time in the civil service and she explains the important work the civil service is doing with Brexit amongst other things.
