This last weekend was the Jewish celebration of the feast day called Purim.

Purim is a holiday that commemorates the way God exercised His sovereign control through Esther to save the Jewish people from the extinction that evil Haman tried to orchestrate when Medo-Persian empire ruled in Israel.

Haman hated the Jews and tried to get the king of Persia to kill them all, but God, the One True Savior of His people, used the least likely of all people to deliver His people from certain death. This is exactly what we’ll be talking about today.
