Steve Epifano was told by his doctor and by his surgeon that he would never run more than a half marathon, due to a tragic diagnosis of a bicuspid aortic valve (an aortic valve with only two cusps - or flaps- instead of three (which could lead to an aortic aneurysm, and ultimately death). After only a week or two of feeling sorry for himself, Steve decided to focus on what he can do, instead of what he can't do, and continued to run...Last year he did the Cocodona 250. Listen now to hear how Steve overcame his limitations to become the kind of runner - and man - he is today.
