Focused Fire Chat, a Destiny Lore Podcast

Alla Breve is an introduction to the importance of the music in Destiny.

Fair warning for those reading or listening to this: This piece is an introduction to the music in the game of Destiny and its intriguing historical, mathematical, and scientific ties. What it is not is an all-inclusive explanation, being as I am not the composer but merely a musician who appreciates the dive into the various aspects of the music and hopefully into the mind of the composer himself.

Episode 121 brings Blue, Justin, and Beard together to discuss the little information we have on the mysterious figure of Nezarec within the Destiny universe - and also to give Justin a platform to announce his new campaign against sneks (tune in to the end of the episode for that...important announcement). While ultimately this episode is pretty light on confirmed connections - there are plenty of potential threads that connect the singular item we currently have on Nezarec to a few other pieces of trivial tidbits in the game.

Be sure to weigh in for the community question this week - it's gonna be a fun one to read everyone's answer to on the next episode!

Our 23rd installment of the Extra Lore series brings Blue, Green, Beard, and special guest co-host Receptor17 (known to many as the 'Nutty Welshman', even though Blue thinks it's Irish...don't ask) together to learn a bit about the insanely grimdark universe of Warhammer 40k. Prepare thyself - Receptor delivers an amazing amount of information...and this is just a scratch on the surface of the information that is available for consumption in 40k.

As stated at the end of the show - let us know if you enjoyed this one and if you'd like us to schedule a follow up with Receptor (and if so, what in particular you'd like to explore with us)!

Episode 120 brings Blue, Green, and Beard together to discuss the information that we have currently about the elusive Reef-born Awoken and their domain out in the further reaches of the solar system. Quite a bit of the chat is focused around the information that we had received near the end of Destiny 1 - though there are some tidbits that the community has received about the current situation in Destiny 2 that the team brings up near the conclusion of the episode.

Be sure to weigh in for the community question this week - it's gonna be a fun one to read everyone's answer to on the next episode!

Episode 119 brings Blue, Justin, Green, and Beard back together to discuss and debate the information that the community has about the infamous Worm Gods - the source of power behind the Hive in the world of Destiny. What are they? Are they related to the Ahamkara (the wish-dragons mentioned elsewhere, also presented as dangerous to the City in their own, unique way)?

The team tackles these questions, as well as delving a bit into the intricacies of the tithing of Light that the various broods of Hive seem to have and those implications this week. We also take a few minutes near the end of the episode to discuss the implications and unique challenges that the clarification of the bias of the presentation of game lore open up for the community - and our own personal thoughts on that, to a degree.

Episode 118 brings Blue, Green, and Beard back together to chat about the updated information that we've seen on the figure of Saint-14 within Destiny 2 - and to discuss a bit of the paradoxical nature of some of that information. Beard also takes a moment to tie in the discussion from last week with some theories in regard to Saint-14's updated information and the team has an amazing Dispatch this week that allows them to chat a little about some of the things that are going on in gaming communities as a whole. Episode 117 brings Blue, Justin, & Green back together to chat about the shells that Ghosts use in the Destiny universe to show off their personalities - and surprisingly there is a fair amount of information to parse through. Forgive Blue for the tangent on the Ghost in the Machine explanation - it's something of a personal interest for him. Be sure to also weigh in for the community question this week!

Episode 116 brings Blue, Justin, Green, and Beard back together to chat about the Exodus Black, a crashed Golden Age colony ship that players encounter and establish as a base of operations for events on 7066 Nessus. Along with a lively discussion about the current caretaker of the wrecked vessel (an AI who goes by the name of Failsafe - and has quickly become one of the favorite topics of chatter in the Discord server), the team breaks down a number of different pieces of information and even delve into some of the potential effects of these new developments.

In the Focused Fire Chat Snapshot series, Blue invites you to take a quick look at some of the trivia connections that can be found within items from throughout the games that the FFC community enjoys. For our first episode, we take a look at the Nameless Midnight scout rifle from Destiny 2 - discussing notes from the etymology of the term midnight to examining a bit of what seems to be a connection between the gun itself and the poem from Edgar Allen Poe, The Raven.
