'Tis the season, as you travel to visit family and friends or if you are hosting family and friends, we wanted to take a moment to extend the warmest of holiday wishes to you and yours! As I prepare our upcoming episodes, I wanted to take a moment and share with you my thoughts and prayers for you and your family. May your days be light!
In this episode, we discuss the weather. Wait, the weather? Hold on, before you say anything, you may want to listen to this brief and simple message on the correlation between my walk on a foggy day and the foggy days that seem to linger for weeks, months, and even years. Take a listen and you'll see clearly.
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! In a spirit of gratitude and Thanksgiving, I wanted to share a message about how we can all incorporate a spirit of Thankfulness regardless of our circumstances. We are all too often Thankful when things seem to go our way, however, we can be Thankful when things are challenging, and desperate even, this is the true measure of a person. How do you behave when the storms are swirling around outside?
We hope you are inspired, encouraged, and reminded of all you have to be THANKFUL for...
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Election day just happened to fall on Wisdom Wednesday, and our host reflects on our political process, the lingering effects of political policies, and the importance of holding our elected officials accountable for their campaign promises. Gene Folkes ponders the question of Americans vision, and if we are as divided as the polls show we are, and what we, the people can do about it.
In this episode of our show, we sit down with the creative minds behind the feature film The Rings That Bind us, fresh off their successful Red Carpet event at The Angelika Theatre in Dallas, Texas. Join us for humor, wit, and inspiration with Director Bob Carter of Neighborhood Studios in Altanta, Ga., and Creator Tammy Thomas for a lively conversation about taking their film from the page to the silver screen. This episode is also available on The Folk(e)s Unfettered Show's youtube channel, make sure to like and subscribe here and there.
Ok, So, THIS episode is a doozy! We ask the question is love overrated? And I answer in a very unique way. While this is just having a little fun, I go old school and do a little karaoke to make the serious point that given the state of the world today, our economy, war, scandals, and mass shootings, love seems to be in short supply and when we catch glimpses of love, do we take a cynical view of it, have we watered down the concept of love, because of our inability to sustain it? Well, I for one say that If love is overrated, let me be the one that is naive...How about you?
Listen to the entire episode, and for the record, it's REALLY clear that Gregory Porter IS NOT singing this song. So, be gentle with the brother of light, we work hard to drop wisdom in your left ear and knowledge or a song into your right. We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did making it.
