‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matt.22:37-39, NIV).
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. (Jn 13:34, NIV)
Minimum Functions of a Church (slide from last week)
11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. –Ephesians 4:11 (NLT)
12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. –Ephesians 4:12 (NLT)
13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. –Ephesians 4:13 (NLT)
16 From Christ the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. –Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)
Jesus’ body was blessed to be broken and broken to be given.
