The law condemns—the Gospel frees. The law says "do"—the Gospel says "done." The law is of the flesh—the Gospel is of God. As children of the promise, cast out the condemning voice of the law with faith in the promise of God and the Person of Jesus.

We know God in part—God knows us fully, yet He loves us completely!

Those who have faith in Jesus as the Messiah or Deliverer of God are no longer slaves to sin or to the law. We don't live in sin apart from God—and we don't live by the law to earn God's favor. Our faith in Jesus makes us children of God and heirs to all that is His.

The law was meant to point and protect God’s people until Jesus had completed the work of redemption. Once the work was complete, Jesus sent the Spirit to guide, convict, and lead His followers.

As believers, our lives are not about displaying our perfection, but about displaying Jesus’ redemption.

Blessings are to be shared, not shielded—which means my faith in God is working in me in order to work through me.

The Gospel doesn’t say, “I believed in God to become a Christian—but now being a Christian is up to me.” No! The Gospel says, “I believed in God to become a Christian—and I continue to believe in God as I live and mature as a Christian.”

When our focus becomes what we do (or don’t do) for the Lord—we start looking to ourselves—and not Jesus—as the basis of our standing with God. But we received our right standing with God through faith—and we maintain our right standing with God through faith.

A believer who is living the crucified and resurrected life has died to his own passions and desires, has devoted his life to the glory of the Father, and has dedicated his labors to the advancement of the Kingdom—no matter the cost.

Following the Spirit doesn’t mean I live apart from the law of God, but rather I live in communion with the God of the law.
