Pastor Jason Mayhall leads Redemption Bible Church through a look at the Book of Mark, a sermon series entitled "The Crown and the Cross." We see through these verses that our role as disciples is to fulfill the message of God - to make our lives revolve around Jesus, and not seek Him to revolve around us. We have to look at our lives and examine what the things are that lead us down a path, away from Jesus, and how can we stop those steps or patterns. We must also look at what it means to turn our lives toward Him. Pastor Jason teaches that part of the answer is that we are called to encourage those around us to turn toward Jesus as well. These are not, and will not, be easy changes to make. It's going to be a struggle to center our lives on Him and not our selfish, personal wishes and desires. The path through our lives will not always be straight, easy, and successful, but if we are able to center on Jesus we can rest knowing that what comes after this life will be eternal peace.
